potting soil in compost?

Post  kygardener on 4/9/2011, 3:21 pm

I use Miracle Gro potting soil in my flower pots. I am getting ready to empty them out and put in fresh mix. Is it ok to put the old potting mix into my compost pile? Or, are there things in the Miracle Gro that I would not want my vegetables growing in?

Yes it is ok to do that. I put old potting mix in my compost all the time. Good question!!
