This is for all you bathtub gardeners

Post  walshevak on 4/20/2011, 7:36 pm

Entrance to White's Plant Farm and strawberry fields, about 12 miles N of New Bern, NC on Highway 17. I had to turn around and come back so I could take pics.

Thats so pretty !! I planted potatoes this year in the cast iron tub. I ran out of spots and the tub was the next logical step.

I have squares with potatoes, but I didnt want my seeds to go to waste Smile

I wish I had a cast iron tub so I could plant honeysuckle. Love the smell, hate the invasive nature. And a wisteria would be nice too, IF I HAD A TUB.

These household items never looked so good! Laughing

They make you smile with the plants spilling over the sides!

Oh my! rofl..I will have to take a pic of my tub tomorrow! Green onions growing with radishes in between and a square of lettuce (it has mm, does that make it a sfg? grr..nope no grid)!

I am looking for an old-fashioned toilet with the box above...DH says if I can't find one reasonable he will alter/ redesign and make something that looks like that! I want the plants draping down! Humm maybe I'll make it a veggie one and plant cucumbers in the top lol..

Went out between rain showers to take a pic of my favorite sitting
area. This is a front section of the south side of my house. I love sitting
there to do homework in the summer. Right now it is not cleaned up. I usually
don't do much with it until after last frost which will be in about a week. I
plant annuals in the wash tubs, I have cauldrons I put on each side of the
swing with petunias ( a different color each year), a little barrel planter I
put geraniums in and a tub with my chives. Trellis on the right has honeysuckle
but the left I have not planted yet. The left trellis it the bottom of a bunk bed
rofl...

I have several different little items than I plant in and have plants growing
in the ground. This is the area the family teases me about sleeping in! It is
perfect for napping lol...I'll have to show you a pic of it in the summer..Just looking you know you can take a nap!

Of course the bathtub is the one with onions, radishes, and lettuce.
