New Login with Facebook
Hey Everyone,
just wanted to let you all know that I've set up a new module that now allows you to login via your facebook account! Hope you like it! (lt would great if you let everyone on your facebook list in on our forum, imagine how big our group would get.
Instead of having to set up a new account, if you already have an account here, then you can go to your profile menu and click on preferences, then you can associate your current account with the facebook one. Alan

Re: New Login with Facebook
This is great! Is there anything on the horizon that would update on Facebook if we were "watching" a thread in the forum? Or, anything that would repost important topics to Facebook? Something sort of meshing the two together rather seemlessly??

Aren't we being "watched" enough. JK
I used to hang out at FB, but got sick and tired of the "I'm at McDonald's buying lunch" or "I am driving to such and such and some guy cut me off" UH, he was probably on FB too.

I've also added a 'recommend/like' facebook button on each of our products on the storefront, so if you guys could take a minute and let us know which of our products you 'like' the most, I'd appreciate the feedback.

Alan....it would probably be good to give some step by step instructions I can use to help people that are having trouble...
I can't get it to work for me.

Re: New Login with Facebook
I have my settings for the forum set up so that I get notified via email of anything new in the threads I am watching. This is the best notification for me. If I dont check my FB for a day I often have 300+ new messages and I really never read them all. However, I am sure a notification thru FB would be great for some folks.BackyardBirdGardner wrote:This is great! The link on FB to the forum is not working for me as well.

Re: New Login with Facebook
OK. Here is what I did. I went to the 'profile' menu(on the forum site). then clicked on the 'preferences' tab. 3 options down is one called "associate your facebook account" I clicked on the link on the right, which brought up a login page for facebook. I inputted my login info, and wala, I was connected(make sure there are no pop-up blockers enabled as that may cause a problem). By the way, in the profile page, the furthest right tab is a 'facebook invite' where you can then invite all your friends from facebook into the forum!. Let me know what issues you are having and i'll see what we can do to take care of them. Alan

Re: New Login with Facebook
Thanks, Alan. I'll get something with myself setup when I get a bit more time.
All kidding aside, I know that I have a lot of people through facebook that kind of go where I go. And, I kind of pick and choose what I like about where they go and I visit those places, too. This social media craze is really revolutionizing marketing and branding. I think it's more than worth efforting that front.
My lawn business has it's own account and it's the fastest way to let my "followers" know when I'm backlogged by rain/weather. They respond and the communication gap is closed much faster.
Just sayin'.

Yes, you are absolutely right. The possibilities that these social venues create are truly astonishing. How effective has this tool been in your lawn business?
