Has anyone heard of or used actinoiron?

Post  clfraser on 5/1/2011, 8:08 pm

Curious about this product that was recommended to me from the garden center. I believe my squash and green beans had some kind of fungus and the actinoiron is supposed to help and strengthen the plants. Any advice or thoughts on this?

I checked the link but could not find where this product was recommended for any fungus issues. (unless root rot is caused by a fungus)

I have never used this product, so I can't make any real recommendations.

I had a google for it spelled Actino-iron which brought up some results

There's very detailed pdf sheet about it.

Barkie, Thanks for checking this out.

I did not find that site and so was not aware this prodict was a fungicide (obviously, I did not know root rot was caused by a fungus either) Embarassed

I really wish I knew more.

I haven't used this or even heard of it, but just looking at it and doing a bit of research on it I'm a bit skeptical about it. It looks like it works better as a preventative method rather than a treatment, and even then it seems it is mediocre at best. Seems most folks use it for it's iron content rather than any fungicide properties.

What disease are you trying to treat?
