Help! What do you think did this?

Post  jymarino on 5/12/2011, 8:03 pm

I didn't check the one bucket I planted yesterday until just a few minutes ago and this is what I found. I don't have deer here but do have rabbits, squirrels and an occasional opposum. We do ahave a stray cat in the neighborhood too but there was no kitty stuff anywhere arohnd. What may have done this??

Get yourself some Critter Ridder!!!! LOL!!! I had the same thing happen to me the other day. Its got to be a squirrel or racoon or something. I'm so sorry. What did it get?

It was a better boy tomato plant which I had just planted yesterday morning. I do have some of the Repels All spray that I have put around my veggie and strawberry beds, since you aren't supposed to put it directly on plants for human consumption. Does Critter Ridder work better? I have used the Repels All granules also but I don't think they worked as well.

I used the spray on everything except one box to see if it worked and sure enough the little rascal came back and went through that box. (Ha! There was nothing in it.) So today I went back and purchased the granules and put it down all around the box. I will let you know what happens tomorrow, but no matter what, it won't hurt to try. (If it doesn't, I am going to be sleeping out there tomorrow night! lol! )

Any footprints around the bucket? Do you have coons? Could you smell skunk? Skunks will dig up a garden faster than a dog....
