Post  1orangething on 5/20/2011, 8:08 am

my compost bin is has chunky matter in it. I did not place any big solid pieces in it. Is this common?

Orange:

We have had that happen as well. When we turn the compost bin wejust break up any chunks that have formed. Can't say why it happens unless it has something to do with compaction. In any case it does not seem to harm the compost.

God Bless, Ward and Mary.
