Grasshoppers!

Post  thomalm on 5/20/2011, 9:58 am

This is my first SFG (and garden of any type). Things have been going great except for a grasshopper problem. They are eating my pepper leaves, radish leaves, bush bean leaves and totally devoured my basil! I tried garlic spray but that ended up attracting ants. I tried Organicide but it did not help. I was thinking Neem oil next? Any tips welcome! Thank you in advance.

howdy neighbor! I frequent your neck of the woods twice a day. My husband works at Truman middle school and we carpool. Can you believe they want to turn it into an all girl's school?

Anyway, I'm fairly new to this gardening thing and I just started using Spinosad. I hear that it is toxic to bees if they come in contact with it so spray early in the morning or in the evening when they are not out. I found it a Lowes and Calloways.

Hope this helps!!
