Hard freeze

Post  jimks1 on 3/26/2010, 11:39 am

Hi i live in MA, zone 6,7. Does anyone know when it is safe to plant in the ground and be safe from a "hard freeze". Thanks.

Hello. Are you on the south shore? There are some things that can be
planted now, like peas. I started my peas inside, because I needed to
move my boxes. Now I am waiting until after the weekend because I don't
want to move them outside right before a freeze. I have no idea if I
am treating them too gently or not.

One of the problems is that
last frost dates are changing, but there are differing opinions on how
trustworthy new dates are.

So what are you wishing to plant?

I live in Newton - just west of Boston. Looking to plant peas, rasberry and blackberry bushes.
