kumquat anyone ??

kumquat anyone ??

so the "other half" out did herself said she was going to meat market then decides half way there she better go check the bargin rack at lowe's so 3 hours later she comes pullin in the driveway. i'm out in the yard weedin a flower bed. she brings this thing over an plops this thing down next to me so i glance at the label an i'm like what the....................... i'm like have you ever even ate one before?? shes like noooo but it was only $2 so i jus bought it

I love kumquats. You eat the whole fruit, skin and all. I think it puts out very fragrant blossom the same as oranges. Treat is like any of the other citrus trees and find a nice sunny place in the house for the winter .

Thats a nice looking starter I would have been thrilled to find it. Mine grew very well in the yard but I also lived in Florida back then. It should be a fun thing for a while, good luck with it. I may go to Lowes just to see what odd bargains they have here.

Nice little kumquat! I've got a Meiwa myself, and I can't wait to taste it! It's going bonkers! I've had the others before, but not this one. It's supposed to have sweet skin! Shocked

I need to go to Lowes! Cool

OMG I'm so green with envy. I went looking for one earlier this year and could not find one that nice for under $40. I had one in a pot for a couple of years and loved eating them whole. Funny the peel is sweet and the fruit is tart. I had to give it away when I left the country for a month. I miss it so Sad . $2 gee wiz.
