Northern and Central Midwest USDA Hardiness zones 3-6; AHS Heat zones 3-8
This is a huge region going from the northern forests of Minnesota, and Wisconsin, to the wheat and cornfields of Iowa, eastern Nebraska and east Kansas, to the sandy dunes of Indiana, and Michigan to the temperate and humid Great Lakes regions of Michigan, and Ohio.

The
gardening season is also huge in scope. The last frost date ranges from
early April all the way to Memorial Day. First frost also has a wide
range, starting in mid September in the north to late October. One of
the coldest cities in the States, International Falls, Minnesota, is
located in this reign.

Fit in where ever you find most comfortable and the most people with climate similar to yours. The purpose of the regional forums is for folks to find others who are experiencing similar weather, pests, etc.

There's just no way anybody can draw regional lines that fit everyone. Not here, or the weather service, or the National Gardening Association, or the folks who draw up the zone maps. Find a region you feel comfortable in to call home, OK?

I'm very much with you Anstar.....

I'm in Colorado Springs, at the cusp of the Rockies and "West Kansas" (though I'm about 150 miles from the border). I don't know where I belong either! I think I'm going to read both forums, and post in both, as seems appropriate. When I have questions about cold stuff, I'll be Mountain... when it's heat, I'm midwest....

Oh, Boffer, they're just chattier here. Smile I think I was scrolling down through the list and stopped at the first region that kindof fit where I am. If I had kept scrolling(and seen High Plains) I would have known that was me.

Wyld, I think I may post in both too. Maybe we can get the other thread as hopping as this one!

I am so totally happpy that you like it here ! I hope you stay! Know that you can enjoy all the Forums but you can call this one "home" if you like. We will welcome you always. Or you can think of yourselves as our long lost relatives coming for a loooong visit.
