Cherry Tomato Blight?

Post  muffinator on 6/17/2011, 11:44 am

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a hanging cherry tomato bushy plant from Wal-Mart (I know, but it is so *cute*) and today I've got the first ripe fruit from it... But it's got a weird brown stain/mark/blight/I have no idea on it. Is it some sort of blight? Can I cure them? Thanks!

They're so adorable I really hope they're OK to eat... I have two, one's even smaller than the above! And that's a soda bottle top it's sitting in. Very Happy

They aren't anywhere near my garden, I've got the plant hanging on my patio.

Oh my! I will be interested to hear what that is. It looks more like the fruit was man-handled at some point, all bruised (which doesn't really show on a tomato) or sun scalded. The Blights that I am familiar with affects the foliage, not so much the fruit. It is probably a good idea to keep it isolated from the rest of your garden.
