this is what I have now, with the following corrections: the melons are actually gourds and the 2 vertical boxes are not near my garden but on the side of my house ( closest to the house is pole beans and bush beans on the outer row) The hoop house will be going over boxes 1 and 2. I have some empty squares right now, I can't figure out what to do, so I just water them because of the peat.

Fall plants need to be : 2-brussel sprouts, 16 broccoli, as many carrots as possible (all of box 2, maybe?), and still in question are kohlrabi, spinach, buttercrunch lettuce, beets.

overwintering in box 5: onions,garlic

Re: Designing A Fall Garden..

Okay, I've completed my final design and started planting some of it today. I started harvesting my Romas on Friday, so they will be finished by next weekend. Then I'll pull them and prep the beds for the remaining plants/seeds.

FYI - I found a great way to screen my compost with something I already have. Very Happy I have one of those kitty litter pans that has 3 levels (2 regular pans, and a sifter pan). I only use one regular pan because I didn't like the way the sifter pan sifted the litter. However, it does a bang up job on sifting my compost! cheers

Here is my fall garden plan!! The empty boxes will be filled and prepped for next spring. (I hope... Smile)
