Recently a round-about was put in near our home. It hasn't helped slow the traffic down, nor stopped the wrecks at the intersection. Someone recently plowed into the wooden fence next to it. My dd and I went over today and asked the homeowner if they had any need of the wood or if we could take some of it. They were happy to have it go - and I was ecstatic to find enough usable pieces to make at least 2 new SFG beds!! It is thin, but my dh says he can help me put a small 2x2 in each corner to fasten the pieces together. It is cedar fencing, so I think it will be good for awhile. I SO love free - especially after all the money I spent this spring on vertical garden hardware!! I will soon have tomatoes (all fingers crossed) so I will take them over a big bowl as a thank you.

Great score on the cedar fence boards! They will love having some homegrown 'maters in exchange! (cue Guy Clark music) All my boxes are made of 1x6 cedar as well, that I found for a great deal (not as good as free, but cheap is the next best thing to free!) Even being thin we will have some long lasting boxes!
