White moths (?) around my corn

Post  htanguay on Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:40 pm

The last 2 days while out watering my garden there have been 5 white moth looking bugs chillin around my corn? Thoughts? Are they harmful?

This is my first SFG and I am having a wicked time with the bugs...definitely will be research best methods for beating those bugs.

Thanks
heidi

Would you be able to post a photo of the critters? They may be just collecting pollen.

I'm going on a limb here. What stage is your corn in? Taseling? ears on stalk?

If you have ears on the stalk, it may be a moth that lays those corn worms, hope not, for I know of no way to prevent, except to plant corn to mature before the worm season.
