Thank you everyone for your input.

I am not sure if it is powdery mildew since the plants don't have white powder on the leaves. They basically fade in color, turn yellow, turn burn and drop off.

But I guess it wouldn't hurt to try the "potion" anyway.

Well, I tried the potion.

Then the pole beans were looking so withered, I took most of them out and will take the rest out this afternoon. While doing so, I thought I saw a leafminer - it was small and green - never saw one before!

Anyway, getting rid of it all and starting over.

Thank you everyone for your help.

Very Happy

I'm sorry your beans got attacked by the dreaded powdery mildew. I had a huge problem with it last year, so I decided to be proactive about it this year. I bought something called neem oil, which is an all natural oil that kills and helps prevent powdery mildew along with some bug problems.

I found a seller on Etsy that was selling a small 3 oz bottle of 100% neem oil for just a few bucks, and it goes a LONG way because you only mix a very small amount of it with water (like 1/4 of a teaspoon). So far, I've had only a small outbreak of powdery mildew, and it went right away after I sprayed with neem!
