Thank you everyone for your input.

I am not sure if it is powdery mildew since the plants don't have white powder on the leaves. They basically fade in color, turn yellow, turn burn and drop off.

But I guess it wouldn't hurt to try the "potion" anyway.

Well, I tried the potion.

Then the pole beans were looking so withered, I took most of them out and will take the rest out this afternoon. While doing so, I thought I saw a leafminer - it was small and green - never saw one before!



Anyway, getting rid of it all and starting over.

I'm sorry your beans got attacked by the dreaded powdery mildew. I had a huge problem with it last year, so I decided to be proactive about it this year. I bought something called neem oil, which is an all natural oil that kills and helps prevent powdery mildew along with some bug problems.

I found a seller on Etsy that was selling a small 3 oz bottle of 100% neem oil for just a few bucks, and it goes a LONG way because you only mix a very small amount of it with water (like 1/4 of a teaspoon). So far, I've had only a small outbreak of powdery mildew, and it went right away after I sprayed with neem!
