Can't wait to plant...

Post  jkahn2eb on 7/30/2011, 6:03 pm

We're still in the 100's here in AZ - the planted part existed before the summer but I've recently expanded and tossed some Ali Baba Watermelon plants in a new section.... seedlings have begun growing inside. Can't wait for slightly cooler temps!

Univ of Arizona's planters guide says one can start transplanting in mid-Aug.

I'm going from 20 sq ft to ~80 sq ft. Still need to get my lines down to create the squares.

There are four 4x4 sections and one 5x4 section. Will plant flowers for the wife in the part closest and go heavy on multiple varieties of peppers, tomatoes, eggplants and lettuces.

How lovely! And what a good idea. I always thought of my veggie gardens as something that wolud be out of site and therefore didn't need to be pretty. But I'd love showing off that garden.
