This weekend

Went to Atlantic City for a little vacation last weekend with my family. Left my FIL in charge of my garden for 5 days. Well, it was a disaster to say the least. He gardens but does minimal row gardening so he didn't understand that when I said to water every night that I meant every night. ??!!.. Lost practically everything. Told me it sprinkled time to time so he thought that was enough. I now have a blank sheet for the fall. LOL!!



Might get started on building the new boxes for next Spring and then again maybe I won't. Yards need some major trimming and weeding so I may do that. Just going to have to wait to see if it is going to rain like it is being forecasted to. Two weeks and my son leaves for college. Much to do right now. Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Oh no! Sad I'm so sorry about your garden! That's so scary, isn't it? Leaving your garden in the hands of others. I'll be leaving for a week soon, and my MIL promised to water my garden every day. I sure hope I don't come back to a desert wasteland too.

So sorry BIX! LS, just a suggestion, you may want to consider mulching the garden just as a bit of insurance in case your care taker misses a watering. What a Face

I have mulch but with it being so warm and having a raised bed, it just spelled disaster. Not much I can do about it now. I will be getting several bags of vermiculite and will be mixing it in next Spring. Hopefully, with new mulch and the verm, my soil will hold water a little longer. Can only do so much. Sorry to hear about your garden. But, the optimist in you is right....clean slate for fall gardening!
