That's five in favor of, and one against, that I've received.

For you Window users, if you're having trouble seeing the dancing banana, hold down the Ctrl button and roll the mouse wheel foward to make the banana bigger.

My only (minor) complaint is that it covers links in the latest topics panel. It took me a couple minutes to figure out the reason I wasn't able to click on a particular link was because the little gif/music file was actually over the link.

I had to go hunting to see what y'all were talking about! I don't very often go to the front page. I really think it's a cute idea, no problem here, except, I have my computer in the same room with the tv, and I never turn on the sound. I'll have to listen when noone is home but me!
