Vermiculite in Australia
G'day Ray,
In Queensland I've found that you can get Vermiculite from 'Pottery' supply shops and 'Produce' stores.
Australian Vermiculite & Perlite Supplies In Brisbane are Manufacturers and Suppliers.
Cheers Peter.

Vermiculite
Hi Ray
Yes "Exfoliators" is near by. On their website they mention they have grade 3 sieved and unseived. Do you know the difference and which one is best?
Has any one used them before?
The MSDS sheet suggests certain safety precautions when using their vermiculite. Is this common to most vermiculite.
Does it depend on the grade too?

Safety precautions for vermiculite
Hi Malcolm,
That's interesting about the msds. I'm not sure that it is a 'dangerous' product per se, however, I have read somewhere that the dust from the vermiculite can be an irritant for people with respiratory problems such as asthma etc... which kind of makes sense. It's probably good/safe practice to wear a mask when dealing with a lot of gardening stuff - including potting mix.
