Another TN gardener who loves the New SFG

Post  tnirisgirl on 8/24/2011, 11:45 pm

Hi, All,

I’ve been looking around this site for a while and decided I’d like to join this group of people who all share an interest in one of my favorite subjects – SFG. Although I’m new to this site, I’ve been doing SFG since 2007 – not in a big way but we’ve certainly enjoyed the few veggies we have harvested each year.

From what I’ve been reading you’re a caring group who provide information, sympathy or kudos as needed. I know I’ll be able to get help with any questions I may have in future. I also hope to be able to give help some times, too.

One of the things I especially like is being able to see pictures of others’ gardens and their harvests. Plus, now I can share some of mine with liked-minded gardening enthusiasts! Hopefully I’ll have a post in the Middle South forum soon with pictures of my sweet potatoes. I just have to get the hang of loading the pictures.

tnirisgirl,

So glad you decided to join us. This is a pretty nice group of people and we love sharing our triumphs and failures or glitches. It is really great having someone who has SFG for 4 years join us. We look forward to hearing more from you and definately want to see pictures of those sweet potatoes.

Again, Welcome and we are glad to have you here.

Nice to meet you!

Hi, Kelejan and Furbalsmom,

I'm looking forward to visting here frequently.

Another thing I really like about this site are all the different areas members represent. It really helps broaden a person's perspective and shows that, even with so much negativity out there, many people in our world are positive and caring.I love you

The SFG Foundation's goal of spreading this wonderful food producing method around the world is one of the best ideas I've ever heard of. It's just ideal for helping people with very limited means improve their lives with such little effort and expense even in the most limited of spaces.

Apparently newbies can't link to off-site sources (like the photo hosting site) for the first seven days of membership so I will be getting the sweet potato post up about the middle of next week.

Even though I've been doing SFG for about four years now, I was still really surpised that I could grow the sweet potatoes. They're really good, too! We had some for supper last night.Wink

I'm going exploring more posts now.

Happy Gardening to All!!

(By the way, Furbalsmom, I love the tomato quote. I'm going to have to find me a good quote to use, too.)
