The Balt. Symposium - Congratulations Graduates!

Post  sfg4uKim on 8/29/2011, 10:31 am

Well we had quite a few hitches at the Baltimore Symposium.

First Tracy & I both have macbook laptops and of course the hotel projector wasn't compatible. Cheri's son lent us HIS laptop, but it also wasn't compatible. Thankfully the hotel event planner had brought her laptop to work that morning (she usually doesn't) and let us use it.

The good thing . . . we were told the symposium would start at 9, but the students had been told 10, so we were able to mostly get our act together before they arrived. Very Happy

The first 2 days were supposed to be at the hotel with the third day our "hands-on" day at The Samaritan Women followed by a BBQ and graduation ceremony.

Well, after I bought all the food for the BBQ on Thursday evening, I received an email from TSW asking if we still planned on meeting there on Saturday. They graciously said they would open the facility for us, but if not, they were going to batten down the hatches and ride out the storm.

We polled the students, and they preferred that we combine the 2nd & 3rd day lessons and get out of town before Irene hit. Those who wanted to leave were able to change their flight reservations and the hotel graciously allowed them to check out early.

We were actually able to get through the lessons AND take a short field trip to see TSW on Day 2.

So, congratulations to the new SFG teachers - the class of Baltimore 2011! Get out there and spread the word!

Kim
