Newbie from San Antonio, TX

Post  aptgardengirl on 3/29/2010, 8:01 pm

Hello to All!

I have been lurking around the forum's since winter and I am so excited to be an Urban Gardener. I live in an Apartment and I wanted a garden with Veggies and dwarf Fruit trees, currently I have a Morro Blood Orange tree and a Meyer Improved Lemon. Last year was my 1st try at planting anything, I did so so. This year I am out to perfect my skills (work in progress of Course..LOL!) with the SFG method. So I trotted on down to Home Depot with my book in tow, told the fellas what I wanted to do, they kinda looked at my crazy but were very helpful. I bought a drill, well two the Black n Decker was whack! So I went for the Ryobi and finished my beds in no time. I have two 1x4's and a 2x4 along my bannister and my trees and trying some strawberries as well. So here goes another year of fun in the Sun! See you all out there and yes I will probably have plenty of questions. (My son tells everyone I am like a Mad Scientist on the patio- )
So a great big Holla frm TX!

Howdy aptgardengirl:

I'm just like a fish. Sitting here with baited breath waiting to help answer your questions. Seriously, a warm and wonderful welcome to the forum. If there is anything we can do to help you be the "golden girl of gardening success" please ask. We are a friendly group of gardeners whose experiences in gardening and in life itself are from just starting out to some older folks like me who have been around a time or two. So if we can help, ask. If you can help someone else please jump in and post an answer or opinion.

God Bless, Ward.

Welcome to the Forum. Best of luck with your SFG! ... We have several more Texans here (in the Lower South regional forum), but then if you've been lurking in the shadows since winter you already know that. Wink
