Good Morning from Minnesota

Post  pharmerphil on 9/24/2011, 8:20 am

Just registered here, most likely I know some of the members, and they, likewise know me...
Been real busy, still have several bushels of tomatoes on the vine...they were covered again last night, My temp here this morning was 33°...so, with everything happening, I may be sporadic at posting for now, but will return with stories and pics...and to meet all the good folks here

It's great to have another midwesterner join the forum. Glad to meet you.

Hope you squeeze every little bit out of your garden before the evil white stuff puts a stop to it.

Winter is a great time to review what went well and what didn't to improve next year. And, this is the perfect place to share your questions or success.

Look forward to seeing more of you around.

Thank You and everyone who reads this for a warm welcome!!
Backyardbirdgardener...reckon that is a good description of the wife and I too...birds are our winter-tainment!! Plus we feed/water all year around...our birds are our garden allies...
Yes, winter is time to reflect...right now, being fall...we are very busy with harvesting/processing...and garden maintenance..
Garlic will go in aprox. 2-3 weeks from now..
applying 4-6 inches of compost/aged horse manure...
I'll ask questions, because NO matter...how long you have gardened...you will NEVER know everything  (twisted re-write of a famous quote) Laughing
Been gardening 42 years give or take a year ...hopefully I can answer some questions myself
as the winter weather draws nearer, my presence will increase...
I have some pics of the effort to keep our tomatoes and peppers alive through the chilly nights recently...However, showing theme may make you all think the wife and I to be quite insane...I reckon any gardener is partially insane anyway  geek !!
