Thank you sherryeo! I love it here bounce . I am finding so many interesting topics and answers on my questions!
As I said, I am a beginner. This time I did not plant into MMix. It is quite an investment of time and money. My husband and I will be getting ready to change our soil for the spring season. At this point we are using soil from the mushroom factory. I know it is not perfect, but I did not want to wait until spring to start with the garden. I hope my plants will survive...

Yul, you are going to need to add other compost to the mushroom soil you planted. When you can afford it, get some compost and just put it on top of the garden around your plants, a good inch or two. There is not a lot of nutrition for a garden in plain mushroom soil. Good luck and post some pictures when you can. Also, get a hold of the All New Square Foot Gardening book, if you haven't already read it. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your garden.

Thank you for the advice, camprn. I will do so. Yes, I got the book last week and started to read. It is a great book! During the winter I will be buying ingredients for MMix.
