Tech ideas for recording gardening activities

Post  arla on 10/13/2011, 1:24 pm

Always think it's interesting to see what others are doing for certain things

So far my main tech is recording things, I use a excel sheet to record what I have planted, since I've just started I only have a single 4x4 right now, but it's here

In it I try to remember to record when I plant things, and what date they will be growing on, useful to find what is upcoming in the harvest roster (end of this month will be good since it'll be my first thing actually coming out of the soil)

Then I also use catch.com on my droid phone to capture information, I have a gardening tag that I use for all gardening stuff, a planting tag when I plant things, and then a harvest tag when I harvest (and then just other random notes under gardening) this allows me (been using it even prior to SFG) to look back and see "when did I do X" but is quicker to search than a manual diary (for me). I also use it for picture notes, i.e. when I plant peas, I take a picture of the back of the pea packet, so I have all the info right there about germination time, planting distance, type, etc etc.
