Sweet potatoes versus yams

Post  dixie on 11/16/2011, 11:22 am

I've noticed a good bit of interest in sweet potatoes on the forum lately & Fireboy shared with me a link that just happened to answer the age old question about sweet potato versus yam. Thought I would share.

Difference between yam and sweet potato.

Re: Sweet potatoes versus yams

Thanks for that enlightenment. The number of times of have stood in our local store and tried to figure out which was the yam /sweet potato. They were next to each other but not clearly labelled. Now I know that neither one is a yam.

What I want to kow now, which is the more nutritious? I always bought the cheaper one as they were seldom the same price.
