Did you know you could "re-grow" scallions?

I just stumbled on this nifty trick while following some links on a recipe site I really enjoy Pioneer Woman

When you have that wee bit of scallion left over after using the tops, they will regrow new tops!!!

And 4 days later....

Yup, I usually get three or four good cuttings off my green onions before having to buy more.
