Mysterious Paper Sculptures

Post  sherryeo on 12/2/2011, 5:06 am

I've posted this under "Everything Else" because it really has nothing to do with gardening. I hope it's ok to post.

I work in a library and found where a coworker had posted a link to this article on my facebook page. I think it's quite magical and wanted to share it with my friends here on the forum.

That is absolutely amazing! I have never seen anything like that. Look at the bird and all the detail in the feathers. Just amazing. I have a son who is really into oragamy. He is only 9 and will watch youtube videos and make paper things for hours and that is impressive in its own right, but golly gee whiz Those sculptures are just crazy.

Sherryeo, thank you so much for sharing this! I need a good hour to pour over the pictures and soak up the details (I want more pictures!). Some commentors below the article summed it up so well:

These are so astonishingly beautiful and heartwarmingly eloquent.
What a beautiful mind created these.
I agree!

I was so touched by them and found them so beautiful - almost other-worldly and mystical. I just wanted to share with all of you.

I also appeciated the nod to the worth of libraries when so many libraries have suffered extreme budget cuts in recent years. I liked that one of the messages said "This is for you in support of libraries, books, words, ideas…. LIBRARIES ARE EXPANSIVE" and as the article's author commented:

"The word "expensive" has had the E crossed out and replaced with an A. No question of the creator's views on library cuts..."

gwennifer, You said you wanted more pictures. I noticed at the bottom of that page one of the commentors asked if the person at this

website could be the artist who did the paper sculptures. There are fantastic photos on there, too!
