Worked perfectly! The only suggestion I have is to give donors an option to make an ongoing monthly contribution if they wish. If that option would have been available I would have taken it, so I don't have to put a reminder to do it every month in my PDA.

KUDOS!!!!

This is totally weird. My post above shows me as Admnisrator, but I'm just a newbie SFG Forum member.

We all have to watch out for one another. That new administrator has some tricks up his sleeve! Razz

I didn't see what you were referring to, though. Thanks for the contribution.

For a couple of minutes, almost all of us were administrators. I won't say who didn't make the cut....unless you pay me...... Razz

Hahaha!
I just want everyone to be aware that no one here has any access to who donates and how much. That is all private information that goes through the founder. I will say Alan has been incredibly supportive getting all of this set up and getting us on our way to being more self sufficient.
As long as we receive enough donations, we remain ad free, and keep our gallery and file uploading options.
As far as monthly donations. We will have to check on that. I didn't see that option, but I do know some software does support that. That's a great idea though Luci!
Again, thanks everyone. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know via email or pm.

Lol. Now I'm not admin anymore either waste of time
somebody been playin with the wrong buttons!!

I believe that Allan can set that up through PayPal. It's actually called a "subscription". A local busineswomen's organization I used to be the Exec Dir of set that up with PayPal so members could pay ahead of time for the monthly meeting meal costs. It worked like a charm!

I'm pretty sure it was a temporary promotion for such a great suggestion of recurring donations. Wink But, of course, all things around here (much like my broccoli) are short-lived. Sad

I'm surprised I've not actually done anything, but I have enjoyed it immensely. I did spend a lot of time watching my garden grow (really)

Again, no one is obligated to donate for any reason. You will see the same thing as everyone else, whether you donate or not. I am still waiting to hear back on this, I do know Alan is very busy, but it has been brought to his attention.

Re: Re: Donating to SFG Forum

Post  SFGHQSTAFF on 12/20/2011, 8:44 am

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to come on and thank you for your donations toward the Forum. Just to let everyone know, when you donate, it does not become 'money' for us. It becomes credits that can only be used for the forum, so no worries about this money going to anything other than our wonderful forum. Thanks to the donations already received, I have now been able to remove all ads from the forum, both for members and for non-members wanting to join. We also now have additional storage available for your galleries. So yes, your galleries can stay and continue to grow! I didn't really want to remove them, but we have to pay each month for the storage space. Please continue to support the forum and we can keep these wonderful galleries open for everyone. Remember, we don't need any large contributions, just a couple of bucks every other month or so is enough as long as enough of you are committed! Thanks again, we really appreciate it here on the forum. Happy Gardening! Alan
