Starting my very first garden and its a SFG!! :-)

Post  Mindi22 on 3/31/2010, 4:32 pm

I am 23 married and have one little boy baby! I have decided that I want to grow a garden and I finally decided a few weeks ago on a mostly SFG!!! (except for some flowers and a bigger strawberry patch lol) My sister loves SFG and I am excited! I am doing the smaller size to try this year (and we dont have much space) we have seperated the 4x4 into two 2x4's and made the boxes and bought the soil and some seeds. I was going to mix the soil today but it was snowing!! I guess that will have to wait!!
I am so excited to be planting my own garden this year and harvesting my own food!! I have started a few seeds that I want to eventually transplant into my garden already (including some flowers!!) Hopefully all goes well! look forward to learning with everyone and hopefully harvestin a lot of delicious food!!

Welcome Mindi,
I was new last year and loved it. It was a learning experience and by next year you'll probably want to expand, made changes, choose veggies better suited to your area or you taste buds. Enjoy the experience.
