help w/ interplanting veggie crops

Post  Feistywidget on 12/29/2011, 12:15 pm

Either SFG or raised beds will be used.

Haven't done this before, and didn't find much info w/it. Main reasons to use it is to maximize a limited gardening area. This isn't companion gardening, don't plan on using that method.

Also to extend harvest, growing cool weather stuff in summer.

Here are ideas I have, but don't know if most will work.

Corn w/melons and/or squash (NOT 3 sisters)

Beans w/leafy green stuff (to shade)

Tall fruiting crops (toms, peppers, eggplant) w/root veggies. I thought of this since the 2 need potassium and phosphorus.

However, would this cause competition for food/nutrients.

Feistywidget, have you bothered to read the book at all? You ask the same question over and over with slightly different wording. I don't know how you couldn't find much info on it as it's basically what the entire book and this forum is about. This topic is closed.
