Bay laurel

Post  ashort on 1/10/2012, 8:49 am

Has anyone grown bay laurel? It is large shrub / small tree, so not necessarily a SFG plant (does it count if I plant it in a 1x1 area with MM??) Looking for info, as I am thinking about planting one...

Re: Bay laurel

I keep a potted Bay Laurel in Western Washington. I have to bring it inside when the weather gets snowy or if there will be a prolonged killing frost, it does not like that but it does fine with spring and fall frosts. It is very slow growing here and I root prune every few years. I would love to see it become a tree but it stays a small bush. She does live in MM.
