what grade vermiculite

Post  feedinthefamily on 1/23/2012, 9:49 am

Morning all,

Please forgive me if this is a dumb question.... I just had to return my book to the library and my own copy is enroute to me and I want to get going!!

What grade vermiculite is best to use? And do you have a favorite online ordering place if you can't find it locally?

Thanks much!

The forum has a database of stores that sell vermiculite.

I just checked and there are a lot of CA places.

Oh, you want the course grade.

Kay

I have a strong preference for coarse. I've purchased from Uline, and would again.

There is not a standard sizing agreement amongst manufacturers.

What the sizes look like:

You can pick up the coarse grade from Uline in Ontario, CA and save on shipping. Call the order in and pick up the next day. Or order from them on line and pay shipping to have it delivered. Minimum order is 2 bags. They are very nice to deal with. That is my preference. The medium can be picked up at Home Depot as I said in another thread. I got is at the south Fontana store.
