With no holes in the shroud, I just don't see the temps getting to 450 degrees inside the basket.

just put a candle under it and an oven thermometer inside or put it on a stove burner in your kitchen (monitoring closely of course). i bet that would make the temp rise pretty well to show that it WOULD happen as an experiment. i know when we camp we in essence cook in a 'basket' when i bake bread in my camp oven thingy that just rests on a gas burner or the wood fire.

have fun with your new 'toy'. Smile

So, it's a slow day here and I was wondering what have you been using the roaster for Boff? And how is your ceramic grill?

I still think it is a cheese grater!

But it might work to spin salad although it might be hard work turning it fast enough to spin the water off!

I bought a salad spinner for less than $10, it is like a plastic bowl with another bowl inside it with lots of holes/almost meshy that is spun by a handle on the lid. It works great!
